Welcome to the official Ekam IAS Reading Room Rules and Regulations page. As one of the most trusted reading rooms in Kochi, we strive to maintain a peaceful, hygienic, and distraction-free study space for civil service aspirants and dedicated learners.
To ensure a productive environment for all, every subscriber to the Ekam IAS Reading Room is expected to follow these rules. By using our services, you automatically agree to comply with the guidelines listed below.
We request all users to read these regulations carefully and use the reading room responsibly. Your cooperation helps us maintain one of the most disciplined and student-friendly reading rooms in Kochi.
- Timings & Updates
- The reading room is open every day, unless otherwise informed. Please join our official WhatsApp channel for updates and instructions. Please ask for the WhatsApp channel link.
- Seat Allocation
- Seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Fixed seat allocations are made only by the management on case-by-case basis.
- After each day’s study session, please clear your desk completely—do not leave books or devices on the table. And, keep it ready for the next user.
- You may use the designated shelves and storage spaces for keeping your belongings.
- Any form of seat reservation is strictly prohibited. This includes leaving books or belongings overnight or asking others to hold a seat using materials. All seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis each day.
- Silence & Conduct
- Strict silence must be maintained inside the reading room at all times.
- All forms of conversation or discussion are strictly prohibited within the reading room.
- The study space is for individual study only—no group discussions permitted.
- Phone Use & Conversations
- For urgent calls or brief discussions, you may use the pantry area (with the door closed) or the sit-out area (after closing the main door).
- These conversations must be strictly academic in nature and conducted quietly to avoid disturbing others.
- Playing voice notes, videos, or music on speaker is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
- Electronic Devices
- All devices including phones, laptops, and tablets must be kept on silent mode.
- All phone calls, alarms, or timer sounds must be disabled or silenced—no ringing or audible alerts are allowed inside the study space.
- Use of headphones is permitted only at low volume, and should not cause any disturbance.
- Washrooms
- There are 3 gender-neutral washrooms available for use.
- Please maintain high standards of hygiene after use.
- Food & Beverages
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the reading room.
- You may use the designated pantry for eating or refreshments.
- Wi-Fi Usage
- Wi-Fi access is intended for educational use only. Misuse may lead to suspension of access.
- Personal Belongings
- Ekam IAS is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
- Please take care of your belongings and use storage facilities responsibly.
- Parking Guidelines
- Two-wheeler parking is allowed, subject to availability. Reservations or overnight parking is not allowed.
- Do not block the entrance. Keep vehicle handles unlocked for smooth parking.
- Ekam IAS is not liable for any loss or damage to vehicles parked on the premises.
- Cleanliness & Waste Management
- Segregate waste into food, plastic, and paper categories.
- Dispose of food waste outside in the designated bin. Help us keep the space clean for everyone.
- Littering is strictly prohibited both inside and outside the premises. Please use the waste bins provided in each study space to maintain cleanliness.
- Damage & Liability
- Any damage to property, other than normal wear and tear, must be compensated by the user responsible.
- Users are expected to treat the facility with care and respect.
- Policy & Conduct
- We follow a strict no-refund policy.
- Subscriptions are counted in consecutive calendar days, regardless of usage. No price reduction, extension, or refund will be provided for unused days.
- The management’s decision is final in case of any disputes.
- Violations of these Rules and Regulations may result in immediate termination of your subscription without refund and without prior warning.
